1. Warranty
Salty Surf Housings offers:
- A 12-month warranty on camera housings and accessories from the date of shipping.
This warranty covers manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship under normal use.
Warranty does not cover:
- Misuse, accidental damage, or neglect (including impacts, incorrect assembly, or improper storage)
- Failure to follow operating instructions or safety guidelines
- Use outside of stated depth ratings or intended use environments
- Cosmetic wear or deterioration due to environmental exposure
- Leaks resulting from user error or improper sealing
Important:
- Proof of purchase is required for all warranty claims.
- The customer is responsible for shipping charges, duties, and taxes associated with returning products for inspection or warranty service.
- Our liability is limited to repair, replacement, or refund (at our discretion) of the item covered under warranty.
- Warranty does not cover consequential or incidental damages, including camera equipment, data loss, business loss, or other associated costs..
2. Rated Conditions
- Housings are pressure-tested and rated to a maximum depth of 20m (66 feet) or 40m (133 feet) depending on the model.
- They are intended for shallow water and surface use, and are not designed for scuba diving or deep-water use.
- For free diving or surf use beyond 10m (33 feet), a dome port is recommended.
- Use beyond rated conditions voids the warranty and may result in leakage or failure.
3. Returns & Refunds Policy
Salty Surf Housings manufactures custom-built products made to order for specific camera systems. As such, returns and refunds are limited and assessed in line with Australian Consumer Law.
Refunds or replacements are only offered where:
- A product has a major failure (e.g. cannot be repaired, is unsafe, or substantially unfit for its intended purpose)
- The customer has provided timely notice of the issue and reasonable opportunity to rectify it has been given.
Refunds will not be provided for:
- Change of mind or incorrect ordering
- Compatibility issues where a reasonable solution can be provided
- Products that have been used, especially in water, unless a major manufacturing defect is proven
- Minor issues that can be resolved through adjustments or component replacement
What is a major failure?
A major failure is defined under the Australian Consumer Law and generally includes situations where:
- The product is unsafe
- The product is significantly different from the description
- The product cannot be fixed in a reasonable time
If the issue is not a major failure, we will repair or replace the item within a reasonable time. If it cannot be repaired, you may be entitled to a refund.
4. Order Cancellations
- Orders can be cancelled prior to shipping only if the product has not entered custom manufacturing or painting.
- Orders cancelled before custom paint or production begins may be refunded less a 40% restocking fee to cover admin and setup costs.
- Deposits for custom housings, logos, or painted designs are non-refundable.
5. Returns
Returns are only accepted in the following cases:
- The item is unused, unpainted, and undamaged
- The item is returned within 14 days of delivery
- The item is eligible for return (see exclusions below)
Returns are subject to:
- A 40% restocking fee
- Shipping charges being covered by the customer
- Refunds issued as store credit unless otherwise agreed
Returns are not accepted for:
- Custom-painted housings
- Custom logos or designs
- Any item used in water
- Housings with visible wear or cosmetic damage
6. Shipping
- Customers are responsible for all shipping costs, import duties, and taxes.
- Orders and warranty returns will not ship until full payment is received.
- Shipping timeframes are estimates only and Salty Surf Housings is not liable for courier delays.
- Any returned goods must be shipped with tracking and proper packaging.
- Salty Surf Housings is not liable for loss or damage of returned goods in transit.
- Shipping fees are non-refundable.
7. Important Usage Disclaimer
Underwater photography carries inherent risks. While we test all products before dispatch, it is the user’s responsibility to:
- Carefully inspect and test the housing prior to use
- Read and follow the product instruction manual thoroughly
- If you are unsure about anything please contact Salty Surf Housings immediately
- Properly seal and secure the housing before entering the water
- Avoid exceeding rated depth limits or subjecting the housing to impacts or extreme conditions
- Understand the risks involved in exposing electronic equipment to marine environments
- Ensure that all gear is compatible and properly fitted
- Insure camera equipment and accessories used in the housing
Salty Surf Housings is not responsible for:
- Any damage to cameras, lenses, batteries, or media cards
- Loss of income, opportunity, or time caused by housing-related issues
- Personal injury or injury to others
- Any third-party damage or liability
By purchasing and using our products, you accept all associated risks and responsibilities. You also agree that you have read and understood these terms and conditions and are using the product in accordance with its design and limitations.

Use of our products constitutes acceptance of these terms, including all disclaimers, limitations of liability, and user responsibilities outlined above.
